Brake hoods offered...
Fit illustrations...
Bare levers used in fit illustrations...
Product Description:
Listing Update...This is not so much an update as it is a point of emphasis. Please keep in mind this offering is for a set of brake hoods only. The pictures that include actual brake levers are there to help assess brake hood fit and compatibility. There are no brake levers included with this offering, only the brake hoods.
This is a pair of new-old-stock AME branded brake lever hoods in the non-aero design (which means the brake cables will "exit" at the top of the levers...for a classic look). Their color is probably best described as a light/lime green. We were not provided any compatibility information with these hoods, but we took the liberty of trying the hoods on a few different non-aero brake levers we have available to make our own preliminary fit assessments.
To this end, we have included a few pictures of those brake levers with these hoods fitted over them. Please understand we are not implying these hoods are only compatible with the brake levers pictured, because we are sure there are other brake levers where these hoods also offer a reasonably good fit. Our intentions are to simply illustrate a few examples of compatibility, followed by pictures of the same brake levers with no hoods on them, so that folks may compare these levers to other model levers where these hoods might offer a reasonable fit. We understand this is not the ideal manner to determine brake lever to hood compatibility, but the lack information provided with these hoods leaves us in a difficult position, but we still wanted to take the extra time to offer some assistance.
To this end, the organization and order of the pictures to the left includes the first four pictures that show only the hoods, followed by the next four pictures that show the hoods mounted on two different brake levers and finally the last two pictures that show the bare levers used in the aforementioned fit illustrations. I should also confirm the two brake levers used in the fit illustrations are the first generation Shimano 600 brake lever and a garden variety (middle-of-the-road) Dia-Compe brake lever. Please also keep in mind (and as mentioned above in the listing update) that no brake levers are included with this offering, just the brake hoods.
With respect to condition, these hoods are new-old-stock with some marks, but they are still soft/pliable and show no signs of age cracking. Listing Update...I have very few of these sets left in stock in this color.

Note to international customers regarding shipping...
We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.
Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
