Here is a nice vintage lugged frame with a chromed fork made in France by Gitane with Reynolds 501 steel. It is fitted with a Campagnolo headset and, while the paint is bad, all the metal is great. The top tube is 58 cm center to center and the seat tube is 58 cm center to top, or 56.5 cm center to center. Fits like most builders’ 57-58 cm or size large. The paint is faded, stained by old black electrical tape residue and road gunk/grease, gone around most of the front derailleur clamp area as well as some other spots, and is bubbling a bit under the seat tube lug — all of which I’ve shown in the photos. The chrome fork is in good shape. There’s one small spot under the crown where it’s a bit worn. The dropouts, front and rear, are all aligned and the adjustment screws in the rear are straight and turn smoothly. Good threads everywhere and good headset bearings. It takes a 26.4 mm seat post, an English threaded (BSA) bottom bracket, and has 126 mm rear spacing. Fits 700x28 tires, maybe larger depending on manufacturer, and how much clearance you prefer. Any questions are welcome. Available for local pickup or inspection. Thanks for your interest in building up a classic French steel frame!
