For sale is a beautiful and rare Raleigh Road Ace aerodynamic bike, made in England, I believe in 1984, the serial number is shown in the last picture.
The color of the bike is polar blue, as described in the 1984 catalog.
Also it is described in the catalog as: "a bike built for the racer who wants the latest style in top quality racing componentry. Handbuilt in the Leightweight Unit, the Road Ace features the Shimano 600 AX aerodynamic ensemble and Reynolds 531C tubing throughout."
24 1/2" or 62 cm from center of crank to top of seat tube;
57 cm top tube (C-C).
The bike has an almost complete Shimano 600 AX group: brakes calipers and levers, stem, derailleurs and shifters, hubs, seat post, crank set and pedals.
The bars are Shimano Dura-Ace.
Reynolds 531C fork blades, seat stays and butted frame tubes.
Mavic GP4 700c tubular wheels with Clement CF2001 tires, glued. The tires look to be never rode yet.
The saddle is marked ISCA Selle Tornado and had some scratches.
The brake lever hoods are missing, actually I have one old and cracked.
The paint is beautiful, a few small scratches.
No dents, no bents or other damages.
The decals are good, the Reynolds one on the right fork blade has a little damage.
The components of the group are in good condition, but have some dust and old grease.
I tried to clean the bike, but I did not too it apart, because the lack of proper tools, I hope I will be able to take the pedals and stem apart, in case of shipping. .
The bike is in need of a tune-up. And also the right pedal need to be regressed, is moving hard.
The bike was purchased in from a bike shop from Northampton England, as the sticker on the seat tube shows.
